Melody Club - “Killing A Boy”: Swedish bands seem to have an unrivalled capacity for coming up with songs which I Quite Like, and often the reason I don’t more than Quite Like them is a vocal limpness. Which Melody Club share, so I’m not totally sure why this trebly confection made the jump from pleasant to earworm*. A great hook, of course, but more than that maybe the way it goes for flouncy melodrama where a lot of Swe-pop seems happy to settle for cute.
*and goodness it did, for a week or so in 2005 I listened to little but. I tried their other tracks but nothing truly stuck.
