Slender Plenty - “Silver Treetop School For Boys”: The Bowiesongs blog calls this “the great lost Bowie song of the 1960s” - David Bowie wrote it, and it was given to a couple of very obscure psych outfits, including this one. That isn’t really why you should listen to it, though it makes a nice hook: it’s just a really good bit of English psych-pop, the harsh guitar sound putting the edge on any whimsy you might detect in a (very British) story of a boys’ school turning on en masse.
